Location: Nyathuna, Kiambu County, Kenya
Salary Range: KSH. 150,000 - 175,000 gross
Role Purpose: To ensure that construction works are carried out to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with approved designs and specifications. This position requires strong technical knowledge, excellent coordination skills, and the ability to effectively oversee site activities and contractor performance.
Key Responsibilities
Site Supervision & Compliance
- Work under the direction of the Project Manager and liaise closely with Engineers to coordinate construction activities.
- Ensure that all installation methods, materials, and workmanship comply with approved contract drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
- Conduct regular on-site inspections to verify construction quality, adherence to specifications, and correct use of approved materials.
- Keep a documented track of quantities of executed works.
Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with contractors and engineers on technical and coordination issues, including reviewing and approving catalogues, samples, and materials.
- Resolve site-related installation issues promptly and escalate unresolved matters to the Engineer immediately.
- Support coordination between various contractors to ensure seamless workflow and timely delivery of project milestones.
Quality Assurance & Documentation
- Set procedures and develop formats for al items for inspections and maintain documented sign offs and logs for the same i.e.concrete , screed, plaster , M&E installations , waterproofing testing (not limited to)
- Monitor and ensure that contractors maintain site safety, cleanliness, and tidiness at al times.
- Witness and document al tests conducted by contractors/subcontractors, ensuring that results meet project requirements.
- Maintain comprehensive site records, including daily progress reports, inspection logs, test results, and correspondence.
Progress Monitoring & Reporting
- Track and verify contractor progress, assisting in the preparation and validation of daily site reports.
- Record and report on construction progress to the Engineer and Project Manager.
- Monitor and verify that as-built drawings accurately reflect completed works. Snags, Defects & Rectification Management
- Generate Co-ordinate & manage a detailed snag & defect lists and supervise rectification works to ensure timely and satisfactory resolution.
- Co-ordinate & Maintain a detailed log for resident complaints and rectifications done during and after DLP.
- Oversee snag & defect monitoring and closure processes to maintain quality standards.
- Manage & Maintain a client-supplied inventory and attic stock, ensuring accurate tracking and usage on site.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in the construction industry, with strong emphasis on construction management in real estate development.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, quantity take offs, documentation, HSE requirements/compliances and QA/QC procedures.
- Excellent communication, leadership, organizational and follow up skills.
