Job Brief:
We are seeking a talented and creative Designer with expertise in both garment design and pattern making to join our dynamic team. This hybrid role combines the art of conceptualizing beautiful, functional garments with the technical skill of creating accurate patterns from design sketches. You will work closely with clients, translating their visions into stylish, high-quality, and well-fitted garments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design Creation: Develop design concepts based on client briefs, translating ideas into sketches, technical drawings, and color palettes.
- Pattern Making: Create and modify patterns from design sketches, ensuring garments fit perfectly and are ready for production.
- Collaboration: Work closely with pattern makers, sample makers, and production teams to refine designs and patterns.
- Trend Awareness: Stay up-to-date with current fashion trends and incorporate them into your designs.
- Material Selection: Choose appropriate fabrics and materials to bring your designs to life, ensuring durability, quality, and style.
- Sample Fittings: Participate in sample fittings, adjusting patterns and designs as necessary to achieve the desired fit and functionality.
- Grading:Pattern grading is the process of turning a sample size (sometimes referred as base size) into an additional smaller or larger sizes. Pattern grading is done using a size specification sheet. Grading does not create a new shape; it increases or decreases the size of the original shape of the garment.
- Proven experience in garment design and pattern making, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator.
- Solid understanding of garment construction, fitting, and various fabric types.
- Exceptional creativity and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a team.
- Knowledge of current fashion trends and design techniques.
