Impact & Programs Manager – Craft Silicon Foundation

Location: Nairobi, Kenya (Headquarters)

Employment Type: Full-time

Travel Requirement: Occasional travel to Uganda, India, and Ethiopia

Position Summary

The Manager will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, driving program effectiveness, securing grants, building partnerships, and ensuring alignment with the Foundation's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Oversee and coordinate the Foundation’s programs and activities across all countries of operation
  • Provide strategic leadership and operational support to country teams
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, donor requirements, and local regulations
  • Monitor program execution, budgets, and reporting across all locations
  • Prepare periodic progress reports for internal and external stakeholders

Grant Acquisition & Fundraising

  • Identify grant opportunities from local and international donors
  • Lead grant writing and proposal development processes
  • Build and maintain relationships with donors, partners, and funding agencies
  • Track reporting obligations and ensure timely submissions of grant reports

Team & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with in-country coordinators to align programs with local needs
  • Conduct regular check-ins and field visits to assess program impact
  • Facilitate communication between Foundation teams and Craft Silicon leadership
  • Represent the Foundation at events, forums, and partner meetings

Monitoring & Impact

  • Develop tools and frameworks for measuring program outcomes and social impact
  • Analyze data to improve program delivery and effectiveness
  • Document success stories and case studies for communication and fundraising

Qualifications & Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Social Work, Nonprofit Management, Public Policy, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  2. At least 5+ years of experience in managing nonprofit or foundation programs across multiple countries
  3. Proven success in grant acquisition and donor engagement
  4. Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-cultural management skills
  5. Experience in working with vulnerable communities, especially in education, empowerment, or digital inclusion programs
  6. Strong organizational and budget management abilities
  7. Willingness to travel to Kenya, Uganda, India, and Ethiopia on a need basis

  • Strong network within the nonprofit and development sector
  • Understanding of regional development dynamics in East Africa and South Asia
  • Experience with reporting to international donors or foundations
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and able to work independently
