The Selection Panel for recruiting nominees for the appointment of the Vice-Chairperson and Members of the Public Service Commission (PSC) in Kenya invites applications. This call is aligned with Article 233 of the Constitution and the Public Service Commission Act (Chapter 185, Laws of Kenya). The roles available include one position for Vice-Chairperson and seven for Members, with appointments set to take effect from January 9, 2025.
Qualifications
Vice-Chairperson Position:
- Must be a Kenyan citizen.
- Should hold a university degree from an institution recognized in Kenya.
- Requires a minimum of 10 years of professional experience.
- At least six years in a managerial role in either the public or private sector.
- Must satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Kenyan Constitution concerning leadership and integrity.
Member Position:
- Must be a Kenyan citizen.
- Should hold a university degree from an institution recognized in Kenya.
- Requires at least 10 years of professional experience.
- Must meet the leadership and integrity standards outlined in Chapter Six of the Constitution.
Disqualifications
Individuals cannot be considered for these roles if they have:
- Held office as a member of Parliament, County Assembly, or a political party governing body within the past five years.
- Served in any state office or held a position in a political organization that sponsors parliamentary or county assembly candidates.
- Been a candidate for parliamentary or county assembly elections within the last two election cycles.
- Been declared bankrupt.
- Been removed from office for violating the Constitution or any other laws of Kenya.
Term and Conditions of Service
- The Vice-Chairperson and Members will serve a single, non-renewable term of six years.
- The roles are full-time, and officeholders cannot engage in any other profit-oriented employment.
- Remuneration and benefits will follow the guidelines established by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission as per the Gazette Notice of August 9, 2023.
