Responsibilities
- Receives or obtains specimens for Laboratory analysis
- Labels bottles, containers, tubes, sample with relevant information including Lab number.
- Performs various tests as stipulated or required by the department
- Maintains departmental equipment and carries out the daily routine maintenance required as per the guidelines of each piece of equipment and as per the SOPs.
- Records lab test results and may assist in research and technical activities.
- Transcribing materials, filing, and maintaining all laboratory files.
- Key in lab tests and results into the system.
- Prepare requisition forms and records of specimens at the specimen receiving point.
- Coordinate with other departments for smooth running of the Lab where applicable
- Perform daily quality checks and evaluate the results to ensure the analyzers and reagents are in good working condition before the beginning of the day.
- Assist in method validations
- Prepare and reconstitute reagents for use and perform any other duties assigned to you by management.
Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences from a recognized institution.
- Must be registered and licensed by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB).
- Minimum of 2-3 years of practical experience in a clinical laboratory setting (preferably in a busy or accredited facility).
