Job Description
The candidate will be responsible for the preparation of food to the highest quality and to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and the dining area.
What You Will Do
- Prepare mise en place according to standard recipes.
- Control cooking temperatures, seasoning, and portion size.
- Coordinate timing with the cold kitchen, pastry, and service.
- Label, cool, and store food safely, and communicate stock needs.
- Clean equipment and maintain an organized station.
- Quality-check ingredients and prepared products to be used during service.
- Follow recipes accurately.
- Prepare food using various appliances and equipment.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitized work area.
- Organize equipment, utensils, and other tools prior to service.
- Participate in the garnishing and presentation of dishes.
Qualifications
- Certificate or Diploma in Culinary Arts, Cookery, and Hospitality Management.
- 1-3 years of Proven experience in a cook role.
- Excellent cooking skills and use of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and processes.
- Ability to work under high pressure in a fast-paced, hot environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills with other staff.
- Knowledge of basic food safety and hygiene certification.
