Job Summary:

 

Responsible for diagnosis, treatment, and management of complex, acute, and chronic adult illnesses. Lead medical wards, outpatient clinics, ICU, and HDU. 

Duties and Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized diagnostic and therapeutic services to adult patients. 
• Manage critical care admissions and consults in ICU and HDU. 
• Establish and run specialized clinics: Hypertension, Diabetes, Renal, Cardiac, etc. 
• Mentor, supervise and train Medical Officers, Interns and other healthcare staff. 
• Lead development of local clinical protocols and health promotion programs.

Qualifications and Experience

All applicants must meet the following baseline public service and statutory requirements:

Academic Qualification

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery MBChB or equivalent degree from an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council KMPDC. 
• Master of Medicine (MMed) in Internal Medicine or equivalent post-graduatequalification recognized by KMPDC. 
• Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience with active clinical practice in Internal Medicine.

Licensing and Registration: 

• Current valid registration certificate. 
• Current valid specialist practising license issued by KMPDC. 

Applicants must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya. Applicants must provide valid clearances from:

1. Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission EACC
2. Directorate of Criminal Investigations DCI - Certificate of Good Conduct
3. Kenya Revenue Authority KRA
4. Higher Education Loans Board HELB
5. Credit Reference Bureau CRB

Core Skills and Competencies: 

• Strong leadership, management, communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams. 
• Proficiency in computer applications.

2. Certified Copies of academic and professional certificates. 
3. Detailed Curriculum Vitae. 
4. Copy of KMPDC Registration Certificate and Current Practicing License. 
5. Fulfill the requirements of Chapter (6) six of the Constitution of Kenya listed in Part A. 
6. Medical doctors should clearly apply for the post as indicated in the advertisement.
