We are looking for a passionate, responsible, and experienced Dog Handler to join our growing team.
This is a start-up position, and we are looking for someone who understands dog handling and is confident working with dogs in a professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle, care for and supervise dogs safely and responsibly.
- Assist with feeding, walking, bathing, grooming and general pet care.
- Monitor dogs' behaviour, health and wellbeing and report any concerns.
- Ensure dogs are handled according to their individual needs and temperament.
- Maintain clean, safe and hygienic pet areas.
- Ensure dogs are safely received, released and handed over to their owners.
- Assist in managing different breeds and temperaments of dogs.
- Follow all company procedures relating to pet safety, handling and care.
- Maintain a calm, caring and professional approach when dealing with pets and their owners.
Key Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Dog Handler, Kennel Attendant, Pet Care Assistant or in a similar role.
- Genuine passion and love for dogs and animals.
- Good understanding of dog behaviour, handling and safety.
- Patient, confident and comfortable handling different breeds and sizes of dogs.
- Able to identify unusual behaviour or signs that a dog may require attention.
- Reliable, responsible and physically fit.
- Able to work independently and take initiative.
- Good communication and customer-service skills.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends where required
