Location: Various Locations, Northern Tanzania (Frequent Regional Travel)
Due to the promotion of our current General Manager, Beach & Safari Holidays is seeking an experienced and visionary General Manager to lead and oversee a portfolio of luxury safari lodges in Northern Tanzania. This senior executive role requires a strategic hospitality leader with multi-property lodge operations experience, financial expertise, and a passion for delivering world-class guest experiences in remote and eco-sensitive environments.
The General Manager will drive operational excellence, team development, sustainability initiatives, and brand growth while ensuring all properties operate efficiently, profitably, and consistently meet the high standards our guests expect.
1. Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across all safari lodges
2. Ensure consistent guest service standards and exceptional experiences
3. Oversee daily lodge operations, including accommodation, F&B, activities, logistics, and maintenance
4. Develop and manage budgets, P&L performance, and profitability
5. Lead, mentor, and inspire lodge management teams and department heads
6. Monitor guest satisfaction, online reviews, and handle escalated guest issues and VIP stays
7. Represent Beach & Safari Holidays with key partners, DMCs, tour operators, and VIP clients
8. Collaborate with sales, reservations, and marketing teams to drive bookings and revenue
9. Ensure compliance with health, safety, legal, and licensing requirements
10. Champion sustainability, conservation, and community engagement initiatives
11. Oversee lodge refurbishments, developments, and capital projects
12. Support long-term planning, innovation, and operational growth initiatives
1. Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree an advantage)
2. Minimum 10 years’ experience in luxury hospitality, with at least 5 years in a senior or multi-property leadership role
3. Proven experience managing safari lodges or remote eco-properties in Africa
4. Strong leadership, people management, and decision-making skills
5. Excellent financial, operational, and analytical capability
6. High emotional intelligence and cross-cultural awareness
7. Fluent English (Swahili or French is an advantage)
8. Comfortable with extensive travel and working in remote lodge environments
