ABOUT RefuSHE
RefuSHE is a nonprofit
organization dedicated to supporting refugee girls and young women in Kenya. We
provide comprehensive support services, including safe shelter, education, case
management, legal assistance, and advocacy, to empower refugee girls to rebuild
their lives in safety and dignity.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Fundraising Intern
will play a critical role by assisting in developing and implementing the
organization’s fundraising strategy.
- Conducting research on potential donors,
corporations, and other grants opportunities
- Assisting in drafting concept notes,
proposals, donor reports and fundraising materials
- Support the organization in maintaining
the donor data base, ensuring records are accurate and up to date
- Help organize fundraising campaigns and
outreach activities
- Prepare briefing notes, presentations, and
communications for donor meetings
- Track fundraising performance metrics and
assist in monitoring donor engagement
- Provide
administrative support to fundraising team as needed
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Community
Development, Communications, Business, International Relations,
Development Studies, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in
fundraising, grant writing, partnership development preferably within the
nonprofit sector.
- Demonstrated understanding of the Kenya
Refugee Landscape
- Non-Kenyan applicants must hold an
appropriate work visa/permit
- Strong writing and editing skills with an
ability to create persuasive proposals and reports.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the
ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects under deadlines.
- Knowledge of donor databases and CRM
tools, such as Salesforce, with experience in data management and
analysis.
- Fluency in English with excellent writing
and presentation skills.
- Able to cope with overlapping tasks and
deadlines.
- Conscientious and self-motivated.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the
ability to build and maintain positive relationships with donors, funders,
and team members.
- High degree of professionalism and the
ability to communicate clearly and persuasively.
- Strong problem solving and creative
skills.
- High level of integrity and dependability
with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
- Able to operate in a multicultural,
multilingual environment, with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Flexible approach, able to produce
high-quality outputs (e.g.reports) at short notice and adapt to changing
circumstances.
