Mpala,
situated on the picturesque Laikipia plateau in north-central Kenya, is nestled
just north of the Equator and northwest of Mt. Kenya. This vast area spans
48,000 acres, comprising captivating savannah and dry woodland habitats, and it
is gracefully bordered by the Ewaso Ngiro and Ewaso Narok rivers. We are
currently in search of a competent and professional individual to take on the
role of PROJECTS COORDINATOR. Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, the role
holder will be in charge of the implementation of the project's scope and works
program. They will be expected to manage budgets, collaborate with teams and
contractors, respond to emergencies, monitor equipment, and focus on continuous
improvement to optimize maintenance processes and enhance overall efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Managing, Supervision, and quality assurance of all
building projects.
2. Technical Advisor on all construction and maintenance
matters.
3. Design, documentation, and budgetary estimates for
repairs, maintenance, and alterations.
4. Health and safety compliance on all projects
5. Timeous communication and reporting on all projects to
all stakeholders.
Key Qualifications
- Diploma/degree in Building Technology, or its equivalent from a recognized institution
- At least 5 years in a management position at a busy construction site preferably with projects especially in a Learning/Research Institution.
- Strong Numeracy skills to handle the financial and mathematical demands of the role.
- Technical understanding of structural/mechanical/electrical/ plumbing/HVAC systems.
- Ability to read architectural drawings and have an appreciation of construction processes.
- Team player with a strong focus on safety protocols and regulations.
- Strong communicator with excellent organizational skills.
- Attention to detail for inspections and record-keeping.
