They have retained our services to support the hiring process for the position of Sea Logistics Sales Representative.
Job Purpose/Your Role
Reporting to the National Sea Logistics Trade Lane Manager, as Sea Logistics Sales Representative, your focus and priority is to win new customers, especially in the segment of small and medium-sized enterprises (SME). This role's primary responsibility is to take the lead in generating new business opportunities, gathering and retrieving valuable market information within East Africa. The objective is to drive the activity and performance of the Sea logistics products on both imports & exports.
- Search for potential customers in internal and external sources and approach them through all communication channels (cold calls, social media messages, etc.).
- Engage in online and physical meetings with potential customers to build relationships and trust.
- Make the growth potential of your accounts and prospects transparent in the company’s Customer Relationship Management software.
- Create a strong pipeline of prospects and opportunities to deliver on your personal and company growth aspirations.
- Act as a consultant for customers to elaborate on the development of the sea freight market and to build end-to-end solutions based on the company’s sea logistics services and solutions.
- Provide quotations in collaboration with internal stakeholders and pricing software, as well as take pricing decisions in alignment with the Management.
- Facilitate the implementation of new and additional business with the Sea Logistics Teams.
- Conduct research regarding market potential as well as share customer feedback with internal stakeholders.
- Document all relevant customer information, as well as sales activities in the company’s Customer Relationship Management software.
- Monitor the development of booked, shipped, and invoiced transport volumes of your accounts based on the company’s sales visibility software.
- Foster the collaboration and sharing of best practices with your colleagues in the community of Sea Logistics Sales representatives within the company.
- University Degree in Sales/Marketing/Economics or related field from a reputable Institution.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ work experience in the field as a sales representative in the Clearing & Forwarding/Logistics industry or Shipping industry.
- Advanced computer skills.
- Valid Driving License & vehicle.
- Ability to work independently, meet targets, and manage time effectively.
