Alupe University is hiring a Lecturer to deliver lectures, develop course materials, and contribute to teaching, research, and community service. The role is based in Busia, and experience in university teaching is required.

Qualifications

For appointment to this position/grade, a candidate must have:

  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Nursing from a recognized and accredited university;
  • Master’s degree in Nursing from a recognized and accredited university;
  • At least three (3) years of university teaching and research experience at the level of Tutorial Fellow/Assistant Lecturer or equivalent;
  • Must have a minimum of twenty-four (24) publication points, of which at least sixteen (16) should be from refereed journal papers;
  • A valid Practicing License issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya;
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications;
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching, research, innovation, mentorship and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities at this level:

  • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Nursing.
  • Develop, review and implement curricula in line with CUE standards and emerging trends.
  • Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research.
  • Initiate and undertake research, innovation and resource mobilization.
  • Publish scholarly work in refereed journals.
  • Provide academic mentorship and student support.
  • Participate in quality assurance, examination moderation and academic administration.
  • Serve on university committees and undertake community engagement, consultancy and outreach.

  • Kenya Revenue Authority
  • Higher Education Loans Board
  • Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission
  • Directorate of Criminal Investigation (Certificate of Good Conduct)
  • Registered Credit Reference Bureau
