LU is located approximately 50 km from Nakuru City along the Nakuru – Nyahururu road, in a serene environment conducive for academic engagement and learning.

To fulfill its mandate, LU augments its full-time teaching with industrial relevant skills through engagement of highly experienced teaching, administrative and technical personnel.
In this regard, therefore, the University wishes to make a call to the general public by inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons with excellent credentials for the position of Adjunct Academic Staff, preferably those in the position of a senior lecturer and above, for the academic year 2024/2025 to fill the following vacant positions:
REQUIREMENTS:
For appointment to this position, a candidate MUST;
- Have an earned Doctorate degree (PhD) or equivalent degree in the relevant area of specialization witha vast teaching experience both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels;
- Have a strong research portfolio and MUST have served as a Senior Lecturer or equivalent in anaccredited university or institution recognized by CUE;
- Fulfill the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Successful Adjunct Professor/Senior Lecturer will be responsible for;
- The review and development of programme in accordance with the CUE requirements and CBC/CBET compliance at both the School and Department level, as well as responding to issues raised by the regulatory body, through the Chairperson of the Department and School Dean.
- Teaching part-time courses which include lecturing, leading class discussions and conducting other teaching activities during scheduled classes. Creating, administering and grading various assessment methods.
- Holding office hours to have discussions with students about the programme
- Inputting grades into an online grade management system
- Any other duty as may be assigned by the COD.
TERMS OF SERVICE:
Successful candidate will be;
- Offered two (2) years’ contract renewable subject to satisfactory work performance.
- Remunerated as determined by the University Council based on the position to which one is appointed and the workload assignment.
