Responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures, preparing patients, operating radiography equipment, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring radiation safety standards. Requires a relevant qualification in Radiography and Medical Imaging and professional registration. The position is based in Mombasa and requires on-site work.

Mother Amadea Mission Hospital is seeking a qualified and motivated Radiographer (Diagnostic Imaging) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring high-quality, safe, and accurate images to support patient care and clinical decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including General X-ray examinations.
  • Perform all ultrasound scanning procedures.
  • Prepare patients for radiographic procedures and explain examinations clearly.
  • Ensure radiation safety and compliance with KNRA guidelines.
  • Operate, maintain, and care for radiographic equipment.
  • Ensure proper patient positioning and image quality.
  • Maintain accurate imaging records and documentation.
  • Observe infection prevention and control measures at all times.
  • Work closely with clinicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Identify equipment faults and report promptly to management.
  • Participate in on-call duties, emergencies, and night shifts as required.
  • Uphold confidentiality, ethics, and hospital policies.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Medical Imaging (Radiography) from a recognized institution.
  • Valid registration and practicing license with the Kenya Nuclear Regulatory Authority (KNRA).
  • Minimum 3 years of proven experience in a busy hospital or imaging facility.
  • Strong knowledge of radiation protection and patient safety.
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and night shifts.
