Job Summary:

 

Oversee maternal, newborn, and reproductive health services. Managehigh-risk pregnancies and perform gynecological surgeries.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

• Manage high-risk pregnancies, deliveries, and obstetric emergencies. 
• Perform major and minor OBGYN surgeries: C-sections, hysterectomies, myomectomies. 
• Run antenatal, postnatal and gynecology outpatient clinics. 
• Provide leadership in family planning and reproductive health education. 
• Monitor maternal/perinatal mortality and conduct maternal death audits.
• Supervise and mentor midwives, medical officers and interns

Qualifications and Experience

All applicants must meet the following baseline public service and statutory requirements:

Academic Qualification

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery MBChB or equivalent degree from an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council KMPDC. 
• Master of Medicine (MMed) in Obstetrics and Gynecology or equivalent post-graduate qualification recognized by KMPDC. 
• Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience with active clinical practice in OBGYN.

Licensing and Registration: 

• Current valid registration certificate. 
• Current valid specialist practising license issued by KMPDC. 

Applicants must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya. Applicants must provide valid clearances from:

1. Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission EACC
2. Directorate of Criminal Investigations DCI - Certificate of Good Conduct
3. Kenya Revenue Authority KRA
4. Higher Education Loans Board HELB
5. Credit Reference Bureau CRB

Core Skills and Competencies: 

• Strong leadership, management, communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams. 
• Proficiency in computer applications.

1. Copy of the national identity card. 
2. Certified Copies of academic and professional certificates. 
3. Detailed Curriculum Vitae. 
4. Copy of KMPDC Registration Certificate and Current Practicing License. 
5. Fulfill the requirements of Chapter (6) six of the Constitution of Kenya listed in Part A. 
6. Medical doctors should clearly apply for the post as indicated in the advertisement.
