Our client, a leading brand with 30 years of experience in multisectoral investments, including manufacturing and innovations sectors across East and Central Africa, is seeking to hire a Chief Finance Officer. The CFO should be a results-oriented and dedicated professional who shall be responsible for leading, managing, and setting the standards for the finance team. The holder shall be responsible for supporting the CEO in the development and implementation of the strategy, with supporting budgets and business plans.
Strategy
- Provide leadership in the development of continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives with supporting financial analysis and evaluation.
- Ensure the company's financial benchmarks and targets are communicated and implemented across all business lines.
Budgeting
- Overall responsibility for annual budgets, forecasts, and ensuring the budgets are financially reasonable and reflect the strategic objectives of the company.
- Assisting the CEO in identifying and expediting the implementation of company priorities as identified in the medium-term plans and in line with the company’s strategy plans.
Accounting
- Ensure adherence to accounting standards and anticipate impacts to the Business of new accounting standards.
- Agree and evaluate targets (budget and performance) to steer and motivate the department according to agreed performance management and budget targets.
- Tax planning and compliance for the company
- Coordinate with the internal audit team to ensure a transparent and objective review of the internal audit findings, and coordinate with the finance team to ensure all internal audit matters are satisfactorily closed in a timely manner.
- Oversee the activity of the external auditors in collaboration with the HODs.
Controlling and Reporting
- Oversee and deliver the annual audited financial statements.
- Review and analyze financial data and performance against plan and industry overall performance, including analyzing and reporting financial information to management within agreed timelines, including profit & loss statements, capital investment, budget allocation, cash flow forecasting, and asset-liability management.
- Ensure timely delivery of reports required by regulatory and industry bodies.
- In liaison with the CEO, understanding of risks, development and implementation of mitigating controls, as well as performing test checks on business continuity plans to ensure minimal business disruptions if/when they occur.
Treasury management
- Oversee cash flow planning and ensure optimum funding to support operations and growth of the company.
- Effectively manage relationships with banks and other financiers.
- A master’s degree in business, Accounting, or Finance.
- Must be a holder of CPA (K) and an ICPAK member of good standing.
- At least 10 years’ experience in a financial or management accounting role, 5 of which must be at a senior level.
- Experience in a manufacturing, printing, or advertising environment is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in SAP accounting software and Advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Integrity and professionalism.
