Kiambaa Dairies is looking to hire an Inventory Accountant
Key tasks and responsibilities
Procurement:
- Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure the best quality, price, and timely delivery of goods.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve cost-effective purchases.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations during the procurement process.
- Ensure that monthly procured milk from farmers and other milk vendors reconciles.
Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, transactions, and stock movement.
- Implement inventory control measures to minimize waste, loss, and stockouts.
- Conduct regular stock takes and reconcile discrepancies.
- Collaborate with other departments to forecast demand and optimize stock levels accordingly.
Order Processing:
- Process purchase orders and monitor their timely fulfillment.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Resolve discrepancies between purchase orders and received goods.
- Take responsibility of all documentation regarding purchases, good received and stores movement of goods.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain organized and up-to-date procurement and inventory records.
- Prepare regular reports on procurement and inventory performance for management.
- Assist in budget planning and control related to procurement and inventory.
Quality Assurance:
- Collaborate with quality control to ensure purchased goods meet required standards.
- Address and resolve quality issues with suppliers promptly.
Other Duties:
- Coordinate closely with the finance department to ensure accurate accounting and financial reporting for procurement and inventory activities.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to procurement and inventory management.
- Provide training and support to team members on relevant procedures and systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or a related field.
- CPA Section 4.
- Proven experience in procurement and inventory management.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficient in using procurement and inventory management software.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry best practices.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management.
- Familiarity with ERP System.
- Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Planning and organizing abilities
- Strong leadership and teamwork abilities.
- Integrity, with a commitment to service.
